Happy Birthday To ME!!

Today marks my 32nd birthday. I can't believe that I have a child that is 4.5 months old instead of 4 weeks old. He is the greatest little boy and I love him to death.

We have no real plans because unfortunately Ray has to work the crappiest hours (11-9). Why doesn't he take the day off? I ask myself the same question. It's okay though because I have Ray San, my parents and grandmother to celebrate with at dinner. Grandma Jean is taking us out for some yummy Japanese food.

Also, Nurse Jeanne is coming over for a little visit. We are very excited to see her again.

Hope you all had a great weekend and happy birthday to me =]

Thankful!!

We enjoyed Ray San's 1st Thanksgiving.

Ray San and I went to breakfast at Aunt Bernadette's house. We had biscuits and gravy and pecan rolls with a big glass of milk. There was also bacon & sausage which I of course did not eat and fruit salad. It was nice that Ray San got to meet a few more family members that were unable to make it to the hospital. Cousin Steven got to hold Ray San even. Both were a little unsure about it. Papa Ray had to miss out because he was busy cooking our Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanksgiving evening was spent at my parent's house with my dad's side of the family. My in-laws were able to make it over too which was a nice addition. There were a total of 16 people and one Ray San. You know he was well cared for and my arms got a nice little break =] A big surprise was how much my cousin Mark was interested in Ray San. I never really imagined him to be a big fan of babies, but he wanted to hold Ray San and sang to him. It was too cute. Oh and he's 30 years old. I think I made him sound like a little boy and just wanted to clarify.
We had a fantasticly (I know this isn't a word) moist turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls, green bean casserole, salad, fruit salad, rice a roni (my traditional request), pumpkin pie, apple pie, chips & dip, bbq pork, roast duck, mixed nuts, meat & cheese, hot crab & artichoke dip, chex mix, japanese rice crackers, pretzels, cheetos and I think that's everything. I am still full this morning =]
We also celebrated my birthday sort of. My grandma gave me an outfit, my in-laws got me a Seahawks jacket that I love, another grandma gave me money, my parents gave me the iPod shuffle I wanted for working out, the DVD Hancock and money and my aunts, uncles and cousins gave me a homemade card. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it is SO funny and perfect for me since I was the birthday queen =]
All in all we had a fantastic day. After all that happened to us this summer with Ray San, we are thankful he was able to be home with us. He's a healthy little boy and we know that is because of all the prayers and love of you... our family and friends! We are thankful for you.

4 Months Old!

Can you believe Ray San is 4 months old already?!? I know I can't.

Saturday was a nice shower with the Orme side of the family. We got a ton of clothes. Ray San is going to be one well dressed kid that won't have to wear the same outfit twice at this rate. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures, but our cousin Melissa did. I should hopefully get a copy soon.

Monday Ray San had to get his 4 months shots. He got 5 different vaccines, but only 3 shots. Ray had to try to hold and comfort Ray San. I could not do it. I'm too much of wimp when it comes to needles. Look at his poor little legs.
We started daycare today. Apparently Ray San did excellent. I was a little sad to leave him though. Tomorrow should hopefully be a little easier on me. I wish there was some way I could be a stay at home mom. Anyone have any extra thousands of dollars lying around?

Ray San has started trying to lift and hold his head up. He's also starting to check more things out so we have been having him play with his activity gym and swinging in his new swing. He really seems to have a good time.

Here are the pictures and a little video of him playing with the activity gym.

I started off trying to get a picture of him lying on the floor. As you can tell, Ray San didn't like that too much.

So I laid him on top of the dolphin. He seemed to like that.

Another Week

Well this week we met with Ray San's surgeon Dr. Javid. Ray San does in fact have two hernias and they will need surgery. It is scheduled for December 5th at Children's Hospital. He will have to get put under and stay overnight to make sure he is okay and comes out of it. At the same time he will get circumcised as long as everything goes well. Keep your fingers crossed for us on December 5th!!

This week I worked three days this and enrolled Ray San in our friend's in home daycare. He starts there next Tuesday. I'm a little scared that she will be overwhelmed with him since she hasn't cared for an infant in a little bit. Good thing he's a good kid. Ray San also went to lunch with our friends Lindsey and Peabody since Lindsey is moving to California. We are SO sad about that and will miss her.

Tomorrow I have my last baby shower. It is with Ray's side of the family. After we are going to dinner at Ray's parents. Sunday I have the Seahawks game and then Monday we have two doctor's appointments. His first is his 4 month appointment where I'm pretty sure he will be getting some shots. The second is with the anesthesiologist at Children's in preparation for Ray San's surgery.

We have Ray San's little brown bear outfit. While my mother wanted to get him another one that was thicker for winter. It was kind of like that little boy on A Christmas Story for Ray San. His arms were straight out and that thing was SO thick we could barely strap him in his car seat. It was so cute.

Here's a couple random pictures.

Our Week

This week we had our second doctor's appointment. So far so good still with Ray San. He was up to 7lbs. 2oz. We have our appointment Monday with Children's Hospital for Ray San's hernia surgery consultation. Wish us luck.
We also went and had dinner with the Allens. Ray San got to meet Davis and Anderson finally as well as Madeline and Ireland. We didn't get a picture with all of the boys, but here is Madeline holding Ray San while Ireland looks on. Eire knew she couldn't hold Ray San so she went and brought him all of her stuffed animals. It was super cute.

We also had a family dinner/welcome home party/birthday party with my mom's side of the family. We had SO MUCH delicious food (flank steak, pork, chicken, green salad, red rice, sushi, shrimp cocktail, salmon, potato salad, green beans). I am still full. We also had a cute cake with darling baby booties for decoration. Ray San was once again spoiled in presents. He got his swing, hamper, clothes, Baby Einstein books, DVD, CD and toy, toys, and a cute little kimono top. My family was once again way too generous. Unfortunately, Ray San pretty much slept through the whole party.

Here are some random pictures.

Wubba Love =]

Things with Ray San are still going good. He pretty much sleeps, eats & poops, but not necessarily in that order. He also seems to be a night owl like me. When I was little and actually still now, I could not sleep at night. Ray San sleeps a lot during the day and then he's wide awake at 10:00 p.m. At least he isn't awake at 3:00 a.m.

The other thing Ray San does is suck on his wubba (pacifier). He loves this thing and will suck on it for hours. Here he is showing his wubba love =]
