LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

I am lucky enough to have an understanding boss that loves snow days just as much as me. No work for us today!! It was nice to just hang out with Ray San and give him his first brief experience with snow. He actually really seemed to enjoy it. He was fussy because he was hungry but I wanted to do a quick picture with him in the snow while he was awake. As soon as we went outside and the snow fell on our faces a bit, he perked right up and was looking all around. We took a couple of quick pictures and then it was back inside for lunch. Here are Ray San's first snow pictures.

The snow is still coming down and I LOVE it!!

I also promised random Ray San pictures and here they are. He is just too dang cute =]
Mommy... I hate this!!
If we don't get to see all of you, we hope you have a happy Holiday Season & healthy New Year!

Our Hectic Weeks!!

I will start with the important thing. We are home from Ray San's surgery. They repaired both hernias no problem. They weren't able to do the circumcision though. Apparently Ray San has extra extra skin that needs to be removed as well. We will meet with a specialist in a couple three weeks when Ray San goes back for a follow up appointment. Here are some pictures from his surgery day (12/05/2008). Oh and he weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and was almost 22" long.
Waiting in pre-op

Isn't he SO cute in his little gown!!

After surgery

Due to Ray San's surgery, I missed my annual gingerbread house decorating party. Instead, I went to my friend Peabody's house and we decorated together. I bought a pre-assembled house (so nice) and didn't open it before I bought the candy to decorate. Let's just say I had enough candy to decorate 3 houses!! Here are the pictures from that.

Peabody also bought me four little cupcakes for my birthday from Trophy. They were SO tasty!!

Also, Nurse Jeanne came by for a quick visit. It was nice to see her again. I think Ray San recognized her voice and touch. He was just checking her out and wasn't fussy as usual. We didn't take a picture since I was not thinking. We are planning on going back to the NICU over the holidays to say hello and show how Ray San has grown. I know we miss the NICU staff and hope they feel the same way. The reason Jeanne came by was to drop off the quilt. When we leave the NICU, we are supposed to get a quilt to take home with us and we didn't. Jeanne picked one out for us and we love it. Look at the cute jungle fabric!!

We also went to a Santa and cookies party hosted by Merrill Lynch. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Ray got invited by a friend and we got Ray San's first Santa picture. This Santa was incredible. He's an old world Santa so more like Kris Kringle. He keeps his beard and has his own clothes. It was such a neat little treat and I'm so glad we were invited. I hope to get more invitations in the coming years. Here's our cutie =]

I also have a bunch of random pictures to post so look for them in the next couple of days!! Daycare is closed tomorrow so Ray San and I will be hanging out if anyone is bored =]

Flying By For A Quick Post

Tomorrow is Ray San's surgery for BOTH hernias. We check-in at 11:45 a.m. and surgery is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Children's Hospital in Seattle. He has to stay overnight too. I'm worried about him being under for 3 hours but we all know how much of a fighter he is and I'm sure he'll be just fine. Think good thoughts for us tomorrow and I will hopefully be back later with an update and some new pictures.

Happy Birthday To ME!!

Today marks my 32nd birthday. I can't believe that I have a child that is 4.5 months old instead of 4 weeks old. He is the greatest little boy and I love him to death.

We have no real plans because unfortunately Ray has to work the crappiest hours (11-9). Why doesn't he take the day off? I ask myself the same question. It's okay though because I have Ray San, my parents and grandmother to celebrate with at dinner. Grandma Jean is taking us out for some yummy Japanese food.

Also, Nurse Jeanne is coming over for a little visit. We are very excited to see her again.

Hope you all had a great weekend and happy birthday to me =]

Thankful!!

We enjoyed Ray San's 1st Thanksgiving.

Ray San and I went to breakfast at Aunt Bernadette's house. We had biscuits and gravy and pecan rolls with a big glass of milk. There was also bacon & sausage which I of course did not eat and fruit salad. It was nice that Ray San got to meet a few more family members that were unable to make it to the hospital. Cousin Steven got to hold Ray San even. Both were a little unsure about it. Papa Ray had to miss out because he was busy cooking our Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanksgiving evening was spent at my parent's house with my dad's side of the family. My in-laws were able to make it over too which was a nice addition. There were a total of 16 people and one Ray San. You know he was well cared for and my arms got a nice little break =] A big surprise was how much my cousin Mark was interested in Ray San. I never really imagined him to be a big fan of babies, but he wanted to hold Ray San and sang to him. It was too cute. Oh and he's 30 years old. I think I made him sound like a little boy and just wanted to clarify.
We had a fantasticly (I know this isn't a word) moist turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls, green bean casserole, salad, fruit salad, rice a roni (my traditional request), pumpkin pie, apple pie, chips & dip, bbq pork, roast duck, mixed nuts, meat & cheese, hot crab & artichoke dip, chex mix, japanese rice crackers, pretzels, cheetos and I think that's everything. I am still full this morning =]
We also celebrated my birthday sort of. My grandma gave me an outfit, my in-laws got me a Seahawks jacket that I love, another grandma gave me money, my parents gave me the iPod shuffle I wanted for working out, the DVD Hancock and money and my aunts, uncles and cousins gave me a homemade card. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it is SO funny and perfect for me since I was the birthday queen =]
All in all we had a fantastic day. After all that happened to us this summer with Ray San, we are thankful he was able to be home with us. He's a healthy little boy and we know that is because of all the prayers and love of you... our family and friends! We are thankful for you.
Here are our Thanksgiving pictures.

4 Months Old!

Can you believe Ray San is 4 months old already?!? I know I can't.

Saturday was a nice shower with the Orme side of the family. We got a ton of clothes. Ray San is going to be one well dressed kid that won't have to wear the same outfit twice at this rate. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures, but our cousin Melissa did. I should hopefully get a copy soon.

Monday Ray San had to get his 4 months shots. He got 5 different vaccines, but only 3 shots. Ray had to try to hold and comfort Ray San. I could not do it. I'm too much of wimp when it comes to needles. Look at his poor little legs.
We started daycare today. Apparently Ray San did excellent. I was a little sad to leave him though. Tomorrow should hopefully be a little easier on me. I wish there was some way I could be a stay at home mom. Anyone have any extra thousands of dollars lying around?

Ray San has started trying to lift and hold his head up. He's also starting to check more things out so we have been having him play with his activity gym and swinging in his new swing. He really seems to have a good time.

Here are the pictures and a little video of him playing with the activity gym.

I started off trying to get a picture of him lying on the floor. As you can tell, Ray San didn't like that too much.

So I laid him on top of the dolphin. He seemed to like that.
